In Arms

In Arms

Automation, the development of robotics, strives for the universal imitation and surpassing of nature. The goal seems to be robots that can be used in a wide variety of ways. Nevertheless, most robots are built for specific tasks—for example, either for mobile applications or for precise work in a fixed location.

Even as robots become increasingly complex, they remain limited in their functions.

The In Arms project doesn't simply view these limitations negatively, but rather seeks the unique potential they can offer. The limitations of the robot in particular open up new possibilities for interpretation. The audience sees an unusual connection between humans and machines. This raises the question: Are we merely experiencing alienation here—or also a new kind of togetherness that recognizes differences while still creating connection?
