The performance "Phony" explores how our society is changing – particularly regarding the traditional roles of women and men. The piece questions: Who is allowed to feel what? And why do we often hold prejudiced views about the different genders? What role does societal conditioning play in shaping our perceptions? The piece centers on three cowboys who challenge these notions and outdated role models regarding gender and power – in order to create more freedom for everyone.
